Rugby to be offered at Queens University of Charlotte Spring 2018!

For those that don't know, Rugby is one of the fastest growing sports at the collegiate level in the U.S. Although rugby isn't governed by the NCAA, USA Rugby is representing geographical unions and local area unions for collegiate rugby!

The only college that offers Rugby as a club sport in the Charlotte area right now is UNC of Charlotte. UNCC offers both Men's and Women's rugby. Click here to read more about the Men's program and click here for the women's Facebook page!

Queens University of Charlotte just announced that they will be starting a Rugby program in Spring 2018. They will be looking to recruit for 7's in the spring for Men's and Women's teams. CRFC's own Katie Wurst, named Director of Rugby, and Frank McKinney, named Men's Head Coach. 

Wurst played for the Women's team then transitioned to being the Assistant Coach.  Wurst also provided the club with mental skills training. 

McKinney played for CRFC from 1993-2008 after coming over from Belmont Abbey College. McKinney was the coach for the Charlotte Tigers from 2015-2017 before taking the coaching position at Queens.
